DJ Montero first started exploring mixing different blends of music as a hobby in mid 2008 out of his NYC studio apartment. He then started to record his mixes of Reggae, HipHop, Calypso, Soca , Buyon & Zouk on to CD’s for his own personal listening while driving or entertaining. As he started to gain more confidence in his talent he began taking request for different mixes such as R&B, Soul, and Indie music from his family & friends. He got his early experience and exposure doing gigs at local birthday parties in 2009. Motivated by positive reactions that he has been receiving he continues to seek the opportunity to get exposure to larger crowds as well as build a name to land more reputable gigs.
Early January 2011 he was offered the opportunity to gain a larger fan base by playing his blends on Islandriddimz.com every Tuesday from 7p-10p. On this live stream you can expect to find DJMontero 's charisma and charm swaying the listeners with mellow vibes as well as exciting the listeners with tunes that make you feel as though you’re in the middle of the dance floor on a Friday night!
DJ Montero continues to self promote and with his unique versatility hopes to become well known in the clubs of the Tri-State area-NYC, NJ & CT. He’s passionate, enthusiastic has a positive attitude and most importantly, a deeply rooted love for all types music.
